As we draw close to the end of 2019 we look back on our highlights on what has been an incredible year for the Club.
We started the year with the opening of the new free weights Gym and redecorated Studio, and the Tennis Air Dome was hit by high winds in February but we recovered quickly and marched on to pick up our first Award – Suffolk Tennis Club of the Year and Disability Programme of the Year.
In May we held our hugely successful Silver National Junior Squash Tournament and Grade 3 Junior Tennis Tournament and in June we were awarded the Central and East Regional Tennis ‘Club of the Year’ and moved on in July to be awarded £5000 and the LTA National Tennis ‘Club of the Year ‘. The Club was featured on BBC Look East and we held a Club celebration event to mark the Club’s success.
In August we launched our newly rebranded Kids Activity Camps to much acclaim and September resulted in an investment programme to refurbish Tennis Courts 1-6 thanks to the LTA Award monies.
In October we were shortlisted for the Suffolk Sports Awards ‘Club of the Year’. At the Annual Suffolk Sports Awards evening the Club won the Suffolk Sports ‘Club of the Year’ Award.
And to round the year off we launched our new website.
We are now in the budget planning period for 2020 and looking forward to further improvements at the Club through 2020. Following a review of our existing membership prices we are pleased to confirm the Club has held its current membership subscriptions, in line with our policy these will be reviewed again in 2020.
We believe the Club continues to offer great value across all of its range of categories for all ages and interests and we would like to remind our existing members that we do offer an Over 65 membership category (eligibility subject to date of birth confirmation) – please note that any category amendment request requires the members’ written permission so members are asked to contact the Club Office on email@example.com for any changes to be effective.
Lastly, a big thank you to all the dedicated Club Executive, Council Members, committees, members, volunteers, staff and their families for making the Club what it is today.
