Competitive Play

Having an extensive range of courts and a large community of players, you’ll never be short of opportunities to play competitively and make new friends.

Internal Box Leagues

Our box leagues are an excellent way to enjoy regular competitive play with a good variety of players. They are also an ideal way for new members to meet other players. The league typically consists of divisions of 5 players and sessions usually last for a month. There are enough divisions to ensure that all playing standards can be accommodated. For more information and to join a box league, please contact us.

Club Teams

Currently, we have three Mens, three Ladies and three Mixed teams in both the Winter andSummer local Tennis Leagues. Each team is run by a volunteer Team Captain, with Fixtures and Results regularly posted on our notice boards.

We also run two Mens and two Ladies doubles during our weekend Winter Leagues. Additionally, we also run various Junior and Adult teams in the LTA Summer National league, Junior Tennis Grand Prix Leagues and a Mens Team in the LTA Regional Winter League.

If you are interested in playing team Tennis for Ipswich Sports Club, please email our team.

Tournaments

In addition to our participation in both internal and external leagues, we actively take part in and organise tennis tournaments, such as our own Club Tennis Championship and the East Anglian Open Masters. For further details, please refer to our club’s tennis notice board.

I love the competitive tennis and the social facilities at Ipswich Sports Club. I have made many friends, and as Captain, I enjoy being able to make a difference and giving players plenty of opportunities to enjoy the game. Along with excellent coaches, playing against good players regularly increases your own standard.
