Last weekend Dave Spence our top player in the ISC chess club won the main Open event of this famous East Anglia chess congress – The 40th Bury St edmund chess congress.
He got 4 out 5 point together with other 2 players: Agoston Mihalik of Cambridge City club, Chris Willoughby of Brentwood sharing the price between the 3 of them.
He won 3 games and drew 2 games. Drew with top seeded player in the Congress IM Alan Merry and beat FM (Fide Master) Martin Walker in the last round.
The other ISC entrant Alonso Paez did a modest 2.5 out 5 and finish in 4th place with many other players in the Intermediate section.
