Our academy players have been in action all over East Anglia during the summer months with some impressive results at Culford, Felixstowe, Framlingham and Cromer amongst others.
In the Suffolk LTA County Closed tournament held here at Henley Road at the end of August, our juniors excelled, winning an impressive 14 out of 23 county titles – a real testament to the hard work that takes place by the academy coaches and players all year round – a huge well done to all that took part and represented the club. Our thanks go to the organisers, Suffolk LTA and umpire Kit. Spectators were treated to a superb standard of tennis all week, including some lengthy battles played in a friendly but competitive atmosphere in the summer sunshine.
Another huge ‘THANK YOU’ goes to all parents of our academy players – the summer competition calendar is almost a full-time job! Your dedicated support does not go unnoticed.
With all your various roles, including taxi driver, food provider, water bottle filler, re-stringer organiser, clothes washer, and mental coach – it’s always a real team effort here at ISC! A summary of ISC County winners and runners-up:-

COACHING & ACADEMY UPDATE
Our tennis academy has had a great start to the year after a busy summer with so many of our 80 players enjoying fantastic tournament success.
We’re delighted that coach Matt Smith has joined our team, as he brings a fantastic energy on court as well as an incredible work ethic and a wealth of experience working in the junior and adult performance sectors.
It has been awesome to see our academy juniors ranging in age from 8 and under through to 18 responding in such a positive way and working hard to develop their games both on and off court in the gym.
In addition, it’s been highly rewarding to see more and more players joining our futures and club programmes too, with many children taking their first steps on the competitive ladder in Grand Prix and LTA events. We’re really looking forward to working hard over the winter season and to lots more success as well as fun in 2026.
